Queer, trans, and gender-affirming online counselling
I provide online counselling across Canada for queer and gender-diverse folks. You deserve a counsellor who gets it, and my practice is informed by both training and lived experience.
You don’t need to justify who you are.
Here are some of the experiences that bring people to working with me:
Wondering if you’re queer enough or trans enough to use the label
Balancing the need to read the room and have a regulated nervous system
Grieving or exiting relationships, faiths, or communities that couldn’t accept your true self
Carrying the loneliness of being the only out person in your community
Coping with the specific ache of, “I accept you, but…”
Figuring out your relationship with passing: Wanting it, resenting it, rejecting it
Processing dysphoria and celebrating euphoria
Existing as nonbinary in a world that often offers only two boxes
Untangling who you are from who you were expected to be
Living with minority stress, microaggressions, and a fear of reactions
Realising the heavy influence of compulsory heterosexuality (comphet) and heteronormativity
Sorting the “date them, or be them?” energy of Sailor Uranus, Will Truman, Noxeema Jackson, Willow Rosenberg, and Dana Scully
Or maybe you simply want a counsellor who understands intersectionality. That’s welcome too.
Counselling that meets you where you’re at.
Queer affirming care can look like a lot of things, but here’s some of the ways I can support you:
Grieving previous lives and identities
Preparing for, or processing, coming out
Supporting informed decision-making around social or medical transitions
Strengthening self-advocacy and boundaries
Battling internalised phobias and stigma
Finding non-traditional family and community
Processing queer trauma and discrimination
Reconnecting with your body
Fostering self-compassion, acceptance, and pride, while holding grief, sadness, and other complexities
Exploring the intersectionality of your queerness and neurodivergence
Making decisions for yourself without needing outside permission
I can walk alongside you, as you unveil yourself.

Queer counselling begins with the stance that your identity isn’t a problem, even if it’s been treated that way elsewhere and acknowledges the impact of societal oppression. I focus on what actually brings you to counselling, whether that’s related to queerness or not, and you don’t need to defend it to me.
-
Yes. Our intersecting identities don’t exist separately from one another. My approach prioritises an intersectional lens and recognises that queerness doesn’t exist apart from disability, culture, neurodivergence, or other parts of you.
